Core values are the fundamental beliefs of a corporation and are the underpinning of everything the company stands for. Cressi’s core values support the company’s vision, culture, and overall philosophy. These values define Cressi’s manufacturing standards, drive its innovations, and sustain its bonds with customers, suppliers and partners.

Authenticity and Transparency

Since 1946, the Liguria region on Italy’s northern shore along the Mediterranean has played a strategic role in the company’s success as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of a full line of scuba diving, freediving, spearfishing and swimming gear. The company was originally started by two brothers, Egidio and Nanni Cressi, in Genoa, Italy. These two pioneers were active participants in freediving, spearfishing, and scuba diving, and helped transform these activities into the beautiful sports enjoyed today by millions of people. In the beginning, the brothers hand-crafted the products they sold. They also personally tested every piece of equipment they made, making changes and improvements based on their sea tests. Today, the business remains a family operation, run by Antonio Cressi, and the offices and production facilities remain in Genoa, Italy, where the company was founded. The core values envisioned by Egidio and Nanni are still followed today:

Product Innovation

Egidio and Nanni believed in the culture of innovation, and they made significant improvements in scuba and spearfishing gear design. Cressi’s original, handcrafted Sirena mask debuted in 1943 and remained as a key offering for 30 years. Cressi’s Aro AR57b oxygen rebreather, introduced in 1957, with its ease of use and amazing reliability was quickly adopted by the Italian armed forces and is still in service among some military forces today. The revolutionary blade material of the Rondine Gara fin (1988) launched a line of fins that remain a top choice for spearfishing aficionados. Each of these products is part of a step-by-step evolutionary process where Cressi designers and engineers make innovations continually. From designing new, cutting-edge products to developing new manufacturing processes, Cressi draws on a wealth of technical expertise and creative knowledge. Today, Cressi continues to evolve and improve every aspect of its business, from the gear itself to the way the gear is delivered to its distributors and customers.
